Overview
Search for the Golden Age (ongoing since 2011) is a visual journey of desire, displacement, and the search for belonging. Through an evolving photo series and a video installation, the Traveller — a recurring figure in Murusalu’s work — moves across endless landscapes as if following a distant promise. The “golden age” is not a time period but a horizon: a fixed golden line on a wall — immovable, yet never reached. Between a mythologized past and a longed-for future, the present remains a place of passage. And as long as no one else appears, the search continues.
The expanding video installation has been presented at Permanente, Colombia (2016, 5’04) and the Võru Museum, Estonia (2021, 8’35).
